Stallings Industries & Garlock – Partners for Success
Garlock is invested in helping you extend the service life of your expansion joints with their family of abrasion-resistant products. Because abrasive applications present a particularly unique challenge for industries, Stallings offers a full line of Garlock Expansion Joints.
Did you know?
The combination of abrasive media and temperature that runs through your expansion joint can have a significant impact on service life.
Experience The Garlock Expansion Joint Difference
Garlock has engineered expansion joint solutions, and we will work with you to select the appropriate materials based on your specific operating conditions. Our partnership with Garlock goes one step beyond the competition. From inquiry to installation, Stallings and Garlock are with you. At Stallings Industries, we offer custom fitting of your expansion joints, building in different overall lengths, offsets, misalignment, both tortional and horizontal. Custom fit expansion joints gives you the entire range of movement that your application requires. In addition, Stallings is trained to measure and recommend the proper joint for your application.
ABRA-LINE® Expansion Joints
Garlock has developed expansion joints specifically for highly abrasive applications. The ABRA-LINE proprietary urethane formula is designed to be the most abrasion-resistant rubber liner available in an expansion joint. Plus, they have been proven to reduce wear and extend service life by causing the abrasive media to simply slide over the liner rather than digging and removing material.
Did you know?
Third-party testing revealed that the ABRA-LINE expansion joints last 2-3 times longer than traditional elastomers. In addition, their unique yellow color takes the guesswork out of determining if they are due for replacement. As the liner wears down, the yellow color darkens and the black becomes more prominent, indicating it's time to contact Stallings Industries for a replacement expansion joint.
NATURAL RUBBER Expansion Joints
Natural Rubber is a common industry solution for basic abrasion resistance most often seen in a soft, tan, gum form. Garlock's natural rubber expansion joints are black in color and feature carbon black and other additives designed to improve its innate abrasion resistance.
ABRA-SHIELD® Expansion Joints
Garlock’s proprietary hydrogenated butadiene rubber formula in ABRA-SHIELD expansion joints was specifically designed for highly abrasive applications above the temperature limit of the ABRA-LINE. With over 50% better abrasion resistance than standard materials, ABRA-SHIELD has proven high performance in aggressive applications with short- or long-term heat exposure up to 300°F. Unlike natural rubber, ABRA-SHIELD has superior resistance to attack by petroleum oils, ozone, and UV. Contact Stallings Industries for more information.
Available Garlock Expansion Joint Styles
STYLE 204 NARROW ARCH
Ideal for full vacuum applications on the inlet/suction side of the pump. Can be supplied with a filled arch to reduce wear and prevent entrapment of solids. Can be made concentric or eccentric reducing design allowing flanges of unequal size to be connected.
STYLE 206 EZ-FLO
Ideal for pressure only applications on the outlet/discharge side of the pump. EZ-FLO expansion joints contain a single wide flowing arch, eliminating the need for filled arches in slurry services. The self-flushing arch design eliminates media buildup and reduces turbulence.
STYLE 7250 FLEXOMATIC
Ideal for connections when the main purpose is to reduce noise and vibration in piping systems. The no-arch design does not trap solids and can be used in full vacuum applications.
STYLE 9394
Ideal for low pressure applications that require a high level of flexibility and movement often found in the connections of hoppers, silos, shaker tables, vibratory conveyors, and bowl feeders.
STYLE 8400
Ideal for low pressure applications with minimal movement.
